How Is AireHealth Changing The Health-Tech Landscape?

If you joined us on ‘Chapter 1 – Entrepreneurial Spirit is in the Aire,’ you’ll know that AireHealth is one of the 8 finalists taking to the Rise of the Rest stage today!

Already an FDA Class 2 cleared device, AireHealth is solving a problem that has long persisted for patients with respiratory illness, providing tools that encourage a more proactive approach to their care.  I spoke to one of AireHealth’s Medical Advisors, Dr. Shayan Vyas, about why this Orlando based health tech start-up’s nebulizer is revolutionizing the healthcare market.

“Despite some 3 million COPD patient deaths yearly and about 14% of children suffering from asthma, respiratory medication delivery tools have not advanced into the 21st century. AireHealth’s solution brings connectivity, portability, affordability, and child-friendly technology to the market.”
– Dr Shayan Vyas

AireHealth Is Pitch Perfect

AireHealth’s CEO, Stacie Ruth, is relishing the opportunity to take to the Rise Of The Rest stage and pitch the business that she has carefully fostered. Notably, Stacie is fresh off delivering the first place winning pitch at the 2019 Crummer Rollins Venture Plan Competition.

Stacie is a second time Orlando community member that chose to co-found her business here after a nearly two decade career in medical technology with a Fortune 500 company.  She shared with me that, “Orlando is the perfect place for Rise of the Rest and the perfect place to build a high tech company because all of the ingredients are here – we have universities feeding us talent, we have pockets of excellence across the tech landscape, we are living in a fantastic, affordable place for recruiting and for raising a family.” Furthermore, the support she’s seen in the community and in the startup ecosystem in the form of tech accelerators, incubator programs and a rich bench of mentors have truly impressed her.

Startups Are the Future

Perhaps the true beauty of pitch competitions, such as Rise Of The Rest, is that they shine a light on startups and entrepreneurs. As the backbone of our ecosystem and with the potential to increase Orlando’s influence as a tech and innovation hub, we should all get behind our local startups. Why is this important? Jobs, lots of fantastic jobs. Furthermore, if we can’t get behind our local entrepreneurial talent, who will?

Revolution Rise of the Rest Orlando will takes today 4:30-7 p.m. at the Cheyenne Saloon on Church Street in Downtown Orlando.
